Do you want to help develop LKAB's sustainability work?

As a Sustainability Strategist, you will work closely with the business and translate the demands of the outside world into strategic initiatives that make a difference.

The most important job of the future

We want to lead the transition of our industry towards a sustainable future. Just as we want to change the world, we want to develop everyone who is with us on the journey, both personally and professionally. Do you want to help shape the future of the world's mining and mineral industry?

Your role

As a Sustainability Strategist, you will be part of a driven and knowledgeable team that works to develop and implement LKAB's sustainability strategy.

You will work in a new position, partly as reinforcement within our team for sustainability reporting and our strategic environmental work. The role also involves starting, structuring, and leading a new development program focused on environment and water.

Having this strategic role with us means collaboration and coordination both within your own organization and in external forums and collaborations with, for example, universities. You will coordinate working groups, create clear working methods, guide and compile information, conduct environmental analysis, and ensure that strategic initiatives gain traction within the organization.

There is still a lot happening in the field of sustainability. This places demands on our organization and the opportunities to respond to new requirements and questions.

Travel may be required in this position.

What you bring

To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone who enjoys combining strategic thinking with practical implementation. You see the big picture and can hold multiple perspectives in your mind while taking responsibility, driving work forward, and acting independently when the situation requires it. You are unpretentious, communicate clearly, and create understanding of the direction of sustainability work, as well as how our goals are translated into everyday practice. You are solution-oriented and find structured ways to tackle complex issues, and you easily take the initiative to start work that needs to be put in place.

We expect you to have:

  • Post-secondary education in environment, sustainability, engineering, or a similar field.
  • Experience from similar roles in larger organizations, preferably within process or industrial companies.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience working with system support, processes, and management systems.
  • Experience in strategic sustainability work.

It is a merit:

  • Experience from mining or heavy industry, nationally or internationally.
  • Experience in strategic environmental and sustainability work in larger companies.

We warmly welcome your application!

We strive for a fair and objective recruitment process. Therefore, we usually do not ask for personal letters. Instead, we ask you to answer questions related to the specific position you are applying for. Your answers help us understand your skills and experience, so take the time to respond as clearly and thoroughly as possible.
